Oh my soldier why did you leave,
On this fine midsummer's eve?
The war would wait for your boldness.
Although I cannot wait for your kindness.
Oh my soldier why did you leave,
For a war without mercy ,
I will wait for your undying love,
Though the enemy take thy life
Without thought of my love
I will wait for your love like a dove.
My days be stretched
My love for you undying
I will wait for the day
I see you striding.
Oh my soldier why did you leave for a war
With soldiers who have no mercy on any living creature.
I will never forget your love for me
Nor any of your features.
