Oh, my dear mother

"he beats her"

Oh, my dear mother

I'm listening to their voices.

The cacophony they make grows louder by the minute.

I'm only an innocent youngster.

They are both my parents.

Being alone in my bedroom worries me.

I cry when my father beats my mother.

I can feel my mother's pain and tears.

Dark shadows seem to be following her.

She screams and sobs every night.

Oh, my dear mother.

My dad's hush words ripped me apart.

Is he not aware that I am listening?

My father is callous; I don't believe he loves Mom.

I don't think he loves me, either.

In front of me, he treats my mother like trash.

I wish I could do something.

To protect my beloved mommy

I do not want to lose her. I adore my mama.

I see him as a monster, and I'm scared of him.
