Oh Life

Time passes leaving bitter sweet dreams

Mistakes in this life, leave sadness and tears

Oh life by George’s Girl

At thirty, I danced with joy, full of light,

A heart brimming with dreams, it all felt right.

Yet time slipped by, like sand in my hand,

Hope started fading, dreams lost on the strand.

Years rolled onward; I felt the cold sting,

Lonely and lost, like a bird without wings

Love, once a treasure, now quicksand takes,

Oh why has there been so many mistakes.

The warmth of our laughter has turned into sighs,

As time whispers softly, my spirit defies.

In my heart, I know that my ship has set sail,

To happy homes and love — somehow, I’ve failed.

I tried to ignite what was once brightly lit,

But realised too late that it just wouldn’t fit.

This life passes swiftly, oh, how it all flies,

Crying into my pillow for dreams that subside.

You love me, I know, but you’re not in love anymore,

Yet still, I’ll embrace what remains at my core.

Though shadows may linger, I’ll cherish these scars,

For they tell my tale beneath the all the stars.

Maybe in the next life, I will be loved just right,

Like a star, shining bright, I pray I am right.

All I ever wanted was to be someone’s girl

So sad how life turn, like rivers that swirl.
