I've been such an open book
but regrets and "what if"s
and " if I'd only known"
still kept in a hidden place
tempered by
"stay in the here and now"
I soothe my soul by
drowning in this song
in my own "Ocean"
the place where I learned
to breath without air
where I held a seashell
to my ear and heard
not the sound of the ocean
but the sound of
my heart beating
and I saw the color of you
a beautiful drowning
where a seashell lays
carefully tucked in
my heart.

The way the seashell holds memory and feeling is justβ¦ wow, so relatable and so intimate. Sometimes the ocean we need most isnβt outside, but inside ourselves. β€οΈ
