Ode to Truth in Three States

Water is the only matter with three states of being …

Truth also has three states to show people’s meanings.

First, truth like water vapor rises as an idea, a possibility,

Evanescent, free willed, a perceptual individuality …

Second, liquid truth, coalescing, filling in the unknown,

Rippling from a concept, eddying, pooling, spraying,

Resisting around obstacles, ever searching for affirmations …

Third, water can be ice, sharp and fixated like icicles

And truth solidifies into beliefs, stark, even fake, no compromise.

But remember, icicle truths only survive with cold permission,

Fostering bitter winds, disruptions, and survival of the cold believers;

The sun’s warmth melts their sharpness to gently drip into small puddles,

Spreading, filtering, merging openly, seeking tolerance in all recesses …

Let my truthfulness lie in the water convergence of a meadow pond.
