Ode to the Dark Knight

No powers, still runs with the League....

By Allen D. LyonsPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
Batman drawn by Neal Adams

No powers, still runs with the League

Put in a call to Jimmy

Gordon, Commish

Flip the switch

Light up the sky

For this guy

Who rids his town

From white-faced clowns

To those with two faces

Never in two places

Than the head of Wayne Industries

Doesn't do it for the damsel in distress

He does it for his dame, Justice

Tried allies just like this

Richard, Barbara, Timothy

Jason and Carrie

They may be brave

They may be bold

But nothing compares to the mold

Amalgamation of stories told

Dracula and Zorro

With a nod to Sherlock Holmes

surreal poetry
