Ode to the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
My grandson thought I was messing about when I said the bands name lol

Ode to the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
In a haze of jazz and a twist of the mad,
The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band made the world glad.
With whimsy and wit, absurdity in tow,
They crafted a universe where nonsense could grow.
From “Urban Spaceman” to “Canyons of Your Mind,”
A sound so peculiar, so rare to find.
Trumpets would wail, and pianos would prance,
Their melodies coaxed even skeptics to dance.
Neil Innes, a genius, with lyrics so sly,
And Viv Stanshall’s voice, a theatrical cry.
Together they wove surrealistic delight,
Making the absurd feel perfectly right.
They mocked convention, they tickled the ear,
Their humor both biting and brimming with cheer.
A kaleidoscope carnival, a zany charade,
Music hall antics in modern masquerade.
Oh, Bonzo Dog Band, your spirit lives on,
In laughter and echoes of your joyous song.
For those who dare dream beyond the mundane,
Your legacy lingers, delightfully insane.
