Ode To My Standing Fan.
Bought For £20 at B&M

In the hush of heat where silence sticks
And sleep runs dry in summer’s tricks
You came, a humble tower of grace
A breeze-bringer with a plastic face
I found you waiting, boxed and shy
Among the sales, no glint, no cry
Just twenty pounds, no grand affair
But oh, the joy you’ve spun from air
With screws and clicks I made you whole
Each blade a whisper for my soul
Now every night you sing to me
A lullaby of symmetry
You twirl and turn with gentle might
You chase the stillness from the night
A faithful friend in steady spin
You cool the fire that burns within
No diamonds, gold or velvet chair
Could match the peace you bring to air
A simple fan, yet I confess
You’ve brought me comfort, calm and rest.
