ode to Joe Mace

gone to soon my friend

By Edwin RosengrenPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

the king of Stockton , so high and mighty

walks up Fletchers hill once knightly

from there he surveys his Kingdom far

his subjects are the many star

by tides he taught the fishing art

to lords , or ladies , to all upstarts

his days are filled with tasks of throne

but rewards past dusk are his to own

woods scent pleasures ,

panoramic mists arise

days are measured

by sleep compromise

the dire and the fey are hid by night

ravens spy but never wright

the wolf and bear are friends long met

keepers of the knight

his riches wrought from common things

a fine discreet embrace

no sword at side to wield , no shield to break

the world to win or lose

in solemn race

sad poetry

About the Creator

Edwin Rosengren

I have been creating stories most of my life , but have never had a venue that I was comfortable with , which also had a significant audience . As a result most of my stories became amusement for myself only .

Here , I plan to change that .
