Ode to Coffee
To coffee, my dear company in life, and the darkest nights.

UNCERTAIN HAIKU
To coffee; sweet god
Captivating mermaid of
profound daytime dreams
SERENE ODE
Often times I’ve found
Before the smell-of-so-inbound
I stop my step freeze dry
And let the heat make cry
*
On your mattress, the muse lies
On your legs, the bluebird finds
A rest from life and earthly bounds
Cozy shelter all you-round
*
Merlot, cherry, maroon, or wine
You are who paints the lips so scarlet
And lips coincide, the best company has failed
To mimic such a captivating scent starlet
*
Brunette night with azure eyes haunts me
But I taste your flesh and advance
With ease through this nightmare sea,
You made in romance flourish thy
*
That’s why it desires you, my body
You’re sweetness, balsamic freedom
While others may deny your bitter spice
I will always love you, sweet coffee-o-mine.
