The leaves now hold brown and red,

If from the blood and mud, unknown.

And the patch of grass still growing

Speaks of wary wounds unsewn.

-

The breath of smoke clogging,

October lungs forever black.

The wind is building her strength

but blowing memories of souls and the lack.

-

Words cannot decipher hearts,

And all that they are now missing.

Here where Spring and Sun turn cold,

Here where pain and healing are kissing.

-

October will forever cry,

from year to year to year...

And only time will have the guts

to try to dry its tear.

-

The leaves are now dirtied with blood and mud,

The ground with buried pain.

And now I'm just waiting...

Waiting for the October Rain.

In this peice, I tried to express the mixed emotioins felt

on this symbolic day, October 7. On the one hand,

it is a year later and time to get up and rise once again. But on

the other hand, the atrocoties that happened on this day are

absolutely irreparable.
