Oceans
We've always loved how the ocean kisses the shore

we've always loved
how the ocean
kissed the shore
with sea spray and sunlight
and how the waves,
no matter how wayward,
always seemed to find
their way home
so, as the tide, we
crash and break,
like a rhythm, a
half-remembered song
and when we return
to shore, we have only
our breath and the memory
of salt on our lips
