Oceanic Grief

Feeling blue

By KSPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

When I’m feeling sad and blue

I close my eyes and think of you

A gentle hand, a softened touch.

A crinkled grin from smiling so much

I’ll never know and never knew

How much I really mean to you

For you were taken far too soon

Swept away into the murky blue

I think of stories that you’d tell

Legends of waves and swell

Sea monsters and pirate ships

Another world was woven from your lips

I still recall the lingering scent

The briny smell of salt and Ghent

Another time another place

I would trade the stars to see your face

I miss so many things you did so well

To hear your voice again I would never tell,

My heart would forever be quelled.
