Object of My Sanctity

A Poem

By Elizabeth SuttonPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Our joy is my religion

Your companionship is my communion.

Cleanse my soul in your laughter

House me in the corner of your quiet smile.

If my heart is dark,

If my soul mourns,

Seek me.

Find me.

Heal me.

But Beware of loving me.

I worship at the heels of your presence,

Your shadow is my veil, my shroud.

If I could be reborn by your grace

If I were to sink happily into my grave,

All for knowing you.

I would rejoice in my death.
