Oasis
A Fertile Spot In A Desert, Where Water Is Found

All Is Not What It Appears
I’m thirsty—
For real healing…
I’m thirsty—
For real feelings…
I’m thirsty—
For real recovery…
I’m thirsty—
For Self-Discovery…
I’m thirsty—
To believe,
The place I see-
Is worth the journey…
I’m thirsty—
To believe,
Those who say the love me—
Won’t continue to hurt me…
I’m thirsty—
For a change-
I just have to be patient,
Cause right now—
I can’t tell,
If I’m seeing a mirage—
Or have I stumbled upon an oasis?….

Oh wow. What a gem this was. I like the repetition, the building block of this poem ‘I am thirsty’ I liked the one liner in between and then how it progressed to more words, more truths, more feelings. This was very well done, especially because it felt authentic and real 👏🏽
