Nuances

My colors.

By Karly Jade CattoPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I am the bluebird’s feet gathered at the edges of an insomniac’s eyes.

I am the anxious, purposeful hum of bees hovering in blushing cherry blossoms.

I am the rainbow-scattering sun catcher in the water-spotted window of my father’s greenhouse.

I am the bending of the palette knife as it mixes pigments on a makeshift palette.

I am the candy stroke of pink between the light and the shadow.

I am the honeyed flickering between the chattering leaves.

I am the billowing grays blanketing the periwinkle skyline.

I am the nectarine glow of my studio desk lamp after midnight.

I am the deep maroon curtain of eyelids closed.
