Why are some lives remembered
While others are lost to the embers
What makes a life memorable
What warrants it monumental
Is it only those who live in full view
Whose lives take the stage whilst others sit in the pews
Must a life have been witnessed by many
To deserve a legacy of longevity
Then what about those
Who lived beyond the spotlight's gaze
Who passed few in their earthly days
Who didn't shake up the world
Or make heads turn
But who tugged out smiles from cracked lips
Walked on when life threw hit after hit
Took on life and lived it to the fullest
Even if few were there to witness it
Do they too, get a eulogy
Or do their gravestones become just a moss-shrouded mystery
