Not anymore

I AM UNCOMMON, unusual out of the ordinary

I don't fit into boxes, I don't have the right clothes

the right look, I'm not like the cool kids

my style isn't like the rest, I walk alone in crowds

no one really knows, what I'm going through

I'm just in the background,

I AM RARE, not often occurring

I keep a vision of where I want to be

locked inside my thoughts

I don't look at the rain falling

I keep my eyes on the horizon

on better days coming,

I lift myself up

I take my spirit in my hands

I raise my arms up to the sky

I won't hold myself down, not anymore

I'll keep working hard, I'll keep me safe

in this tough world,

I'll let the sun shine on my skin

let the warmth spread through my soul

let the torn pieces of me be healed,

I AM A NEW DAY, a new light breaking

the past is behind me, I can't change

what's happened yesterday

all I can do, all I want to do

is move forward,

I tell myself out loud, I'm okay

I won’t worry about, all the times

I felt sadness, not anymore

I know I'm stronger

now,

I AM UNIQUE, the only one of a kind

unlike all the rest, walking in a straight line

I know I'm still finding my way, in this life

I will never fit in, I don't want to, not anymore

from here... I'm headed down my own path,

I WANT TO live how I live, breathe how I breathe

dream what I want to dream

love who I want to love

no ones gonna stop me, make me feel bad

not anymore

because I am uncommon, I am unique

no one can tell me, not anymore

to be like the rest, I know

I wouldn’t feel better

if I was the same, if I fit their definitions

I can't be the person they want, that's not me

I stand apart, I step out of line

I laugh in all the wrong places

I smile when I'm nervous

I am who I am

that's all I want to be

that's all I need, honestly.
