Nod yes if I do

The shortest engagement

By Edoardo Segato-FigueroaPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Nigh. Photo by Megan Anderson.

Oh me, oh my

I saw you fly

Into my arms

From afar, I drew you

Near, like art

You make me sigh

Tear, a part

of the hole

When you nigh

Cry, a line on the skin

Blue dot, red ink, tonight

Your eyes my head spin

I am the same

Song you sing

You are the main tale

I tell and hear

From up here

What a view

When you come near

Me, I will show

You, walk on the sand

Of your aisle and

If you ask for my hand

In the Fall

I will stand

Tall

And come to your land

On the day you were born

If you say

Yes in Noel

Ask me back if you dare

And I will

Nod yes if

I do.

Great use of enjambment here Edoardo, it really adds so much nuance to so many of the lines.

    Wow, intense.

  • Rushed, breathless, the scattered communications of one who desperately wants to get it right yet fails miserably... ...& still is understood.
