Nocturnal Lullaby

A love poem to the night

By Lynda SpargurPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

There’s that time in the night when I turn off the light and the shadows from outside fill the room

I don’t feel alone for I know I am home, and the night sings a sweet lullaby

In the dark I’m afraid that the shadows will fade in the morning with light from the sun

And as time goes by and the light in the sky starts to chase all the shadows away

In my bed I will lay and await all the day for the darkness to return to the sky
