Noble Betrayal

Honoring the Legacy of Brutus on His Day

By Quincy.VPublished 3 years ago โ€ข 1 min read

On Brutus Day we honor a man,

Whose bravery and loyalty ran,

Deeper than the knives he drew,

To sever ties that he once knew.

For he saw a greater threat ahead,

And knew that Caesar must be dead,

To save his Rome from tyranny,

He acted with great bravery.

Though some may judge him harshly now,

In his time, he took a noble vow,

To serve his people with great care,

And for their freedom, he would dare.

So let us raise our cups and toast,

To Brutus, the defender of the most,

Who sacrificed his own desires,

To light the flame of freedom's fires.

And may we always remember well,

The lessons that his story tells,

Of duty, honor, and sacrifice,

To build a world that's just and nice.

*****

Thank you for taking the time to reflect on the legacy of Brutus, and the significance of his actions. May we all be inspired by his courage and commitment to the cause of freedom, and may his memory continue to inspire us to act with honor and integrity in our own lives.

This was creative, informative and fun! I love the direction you went with this one, so intriguing! You could have been a history teacher with the way you make learning so much fun! Or better yet you could do something like Lin-Manuel Miranda did with Hamilton, you could make your creative poems into a rap or song for a play!
