No Time for "What Are We?"
Love is NOT a game
I have no time for puzzles
dressed as people.
No patience for relationships
wrapped in fog,
their shapes shifting
in the dim light of doubt.
Relationships are partnerships,
a weaving of threads
into something strong enough
to hold both of us.
A deliberate act of creation,
not a guessing game.
Love does not stumble blindly,
fumbling for answers in silence.
It stands firm,
rooted in choice,
a steady hand reaching for yours,
unshaken by the question, *“What are we?”*
If you are here,
be here.
Fully. Fiercely.
Do not leave me wandering
in the labyrinth of your hesitation.
Do not make me beg for clarity
while your lips whisper half-promises
that dissolve like smoke.
I have learned to see love
as more than just proximity.
It is a vow, spoken or unspoken,
to stand beside someone,
not in convenience,
but in commitment.
A partnership should not teeter
on the edge of uncertainty,
where one step forward feels like two steps back.
There is no space in my heart
for fleeting gestures
that vanish in the quiet hours of the night.
Love is not a question mark.
It is an exclamation,
a declaration,
a truth so sharp
it carves a space for us to exist
together, whole.
So come with certainty,
or do not come at all.
I will not anchor myself
to a drifting soul.
I have no time for “what are we?”
when I know exactly who I am
and what I deserve.
