“No Strings, No Script”
I never tried to take from life,
or get took —
walked that line between
criminal and crook —
funny how the look
can fit anyone
when life presses the right bruise.
———
Never claimed to be Prince Charming.
Wasn’t born with glass-shoe luck,
but ain’t no Captain Hook —
closer to Monkey D.,
part Jack Sparrow,
part Green Arrow,
with Robin Hood’s knack
to steal back.
———
I played Hercules
when the world demanded strength,
ain’t built like no Marvel,
life scripts me as Luisa —
the strong one quietly leaned on.
They may want a Pinocchio,
but I’m no one’s Geppetto.
———
Ain’t trying to be the Joker,
but sometimes a riddle slips out
when truth needs a twist.
———
No marionette strings on me.
The only threads that pull my life
are stitched across the bat sign.
———
Let me define —
sometimes you step back,
retire or resign,
trying to sharpen again
what time has dulled.
———
Gotta put the cape down —
not hero, not villain,
just a man
breathing,
healing,
chillin’ —
choosing peace
when the world keeps asking
for power.
