fan

fire

frost

I

fled

the story isn't a fairytale

I'm not the girl you wed

see

I'm a little matchstick girl

I sold my dreams to

keep you warm

and all the women

that were in your bed

took shelter in my storm

I danced for the God of endings

then

never knew

when to begin

I’ve been rising

from

the

ashes

since I came out

dying

bled

all these feelings

are conflagrations

I’ve started over

more than

I’ve

sat

still

my lover is

my feelings

iron stomach

starved

free will

I’ve kept it

raw

because I’m unfinished

a burning flame

exposed

to air

I’ll burn

until I learn to

deny oxygen

until I’m quiet

cindered

hair.

no

smoke.
