No Broken Bones

And My Spirit Is Healing

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 9 months ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

I have been broken

But my bones are intact

Words that were spoken

Can’t be taken back

The scars that I bear

May not be seen on my skin

Except for these words

Marking both, sorrows and grins

So take this message displayed

I wear within and without

As proof I have weighed

And concluded without doubt

That love in all forms

Can both break and mend you

Honing strength from the storms

And the joys we will go through

"Words that were spoken Can’t be taken back" How true is that! Many a harsh word is said in anger.

  • To love is at one & the same time most awful & wonderous, my friend, breaking, mending, bringing low & lifting up. Indeed I say, your words, my friend, are true.

Words do hurt at times, but one just has to know we are good.

  • Sad/Dark but powerful poetry. We have to always pick ourselves up
