No Better Than Moths

A haiku, on temptations

By Seema PatelPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

"We mock at moths

for jumping into the flames,

we do the same."

Note: We can fly metal tubes in air. We can plumb the depths of oceans.

But we can’t check cancer or multiple sclerosis.

You know the reason? Because, we can’t control our temptations.

We inflame our bodies. We mock at the moths for jumping into the flames,

yet we set ourselves on fire. We are no better than moths— even if we call ourselves 'sapiens'.
