No. 6 Morning Star

A poem by me

By alan piercePublished 5 years ago 1 min read
The breath

A stranger in the wind

The night personified

He's something I despise

I listen to his lies

Oh my heart is racing

This mirror that I'm facing

How true is it?

This fear that won't let go

Now I'm petrified

Blinded by my eyes

There's something in the night

Though I can't keep ant peace

Will you bring me sweet release

You are a reckless love

Oh morning star

You're drowning out these lies

There's fire in your eyes

But I know

The fire makes me alive

Oh the sparks are dwindling

Lord make me the kindling

I need

Your grace in fire

Recently I published my first novel, The Burning Ones, a sword-and-sorcery-and-cyborg adventure balancing the youthful angst of a coming-of-age story with the realities of a world plagued by war.
