Nights without company
I saw myself calm and as if I had lost my way.

Whenever my imagination wipes the blackness of the night with my eyes
And keeps the birds of sleep away from my bed
Then daydreams flutter over my desires
Those that block all my contemplations from me
So I see myself still as if I have lost my way
When my thoughts sail in ships
And dive into the depths of my speculations
And nothing bears my stubbornness except my breath
After oppression, it struggles with my loneliness
And my mind sleeps like a blind man
Lost in the love of my friend
When my companion comes late
What harm is there in a stranger who does not know me
But what hurts me is the one who is close to me
How do I know if it is dusk or dawn?
And how does sleep dare to seduce me?
And how do I find a refuge or an outlet?
I tasted the bitterness of time until
And he sold me to him for a mustard seed
Nothing saved me from him except beautiful patience
And forgiveness did not reach me with praise
O companion of the night, give me good news in the morning
And remember what you promised me
For I did not marry out of repentance for the covenant
And I did not sleep nights nor return from them
No matter how much the union exhausted me, I bid him farewell
With a painful eyelid and I did not surrender to the wakefulness
Oh night, how many times did insomnia die in you?
Your condition improves after defeating the dead
For you are the doctor and there is no medicine for your wounds
Drunk by your silence and the one in love with you is wronged
When you draw your curtains on the beloved
He waits for your company as the breast waits for the infant
Ah from the flames of longing when it is prolonged
For with kindness and closeness hearts live
And the night with its stars the moon shines beside it
For you who left your beloved do not wait to meet him
And so love is for the loyal lover only
Ah if I knew what the meeting is after separation
And the night erases from my misery what it wills

I have always been interested in poetry and essay, especially rhyme style, so I decided to post my essay here and see if I have any talent in poetry or not.
