Nice Weather We Are Having

Gloves, scarves, boots, and winter coats

Many prepared for temperatures to freeze

Instead of snow and ice today

There is a soft gentle breeze

The sun is shining warmly

The birds are merrily singing

It's 60 degrees in January

In my heart, joy is ringing

I prayed for the homeless, the elderly

And all those without adequate heat

I fall to my knees and give thanks

As weathermen shake their heads in defeat

It’s His grace and mercy

And not Mother Nature’s blunder

The Facebook crowd makes jokes and says

How in January is there thunder?

I know my Heavenly Father is kind and

compassionate with a listening ear

He blessed us with this warm winter day

My heart is grateful as my eyes fill with tears
