Nice Guys Finish Last

The meek shall inherit the Earth

So they say,

But nice guys will finish last.

Alas in its way a truism.

However I feel sorry

For all those who make this true.

They want the exciting guy,

The bad boy.

As they have the passion and the fire

To make you feel ALIVE!

Remember a fire that burns twice as bright

Lasts half as long.

What they fail to see

The nice guy is many things.

A blanket that's warm and snug,

Do not mistake their meekness,

Uncontrary nature as weakness.

It takes real strength to compromise.

Will let you be you.

You will not have to be what they demand!

You find yourself standing tall

Looking to the future with a bright eye.

As they will support your efforts and dreams.

Your hopes and loves.

Yes nice guys finish last.

But those who make it so

Have not won at all.
