New York, New York
something about this place feels like fate
New York City is:
incense and horse shit,
burnt hot dogs and hollow dreams,
incessant pondering and pandering,
never-ending delegating and debating,
waiting on sidewalks, clean-shaven,
shoving through crowds, sweaty,
and on the rarest, most precious occasion
all consumingly loving one another.
That's why no place will ever be home quite like this miserable concrete jungle with sky-high rents and rat-ridden roads.
It isn't for everyone, and no one ever said it was.
You'll get pushed down for sure, you can count on that, but there is no place on this planet that will welcome you back to your feet, and carry you down your new street quite like New York City.

This rings so true. NYC isn't known for having the nicest people, they push, shove, and give you dirty looks sometimes. But there is still so much humanity and community here, there's an energy and liveliness in the air you can't find anywhere else.
