new year,

same old me.

new year,

nothing's changed.

still sitting alone

in my bedroom;

still fighting back the urge

to shed a tear.

new year,

still alone.

new year,

still hurting.

new year,

still afraid to

go after what I love.

for many,

the new year is full of

wonderful adventures to come;

for many,

the new year is full of

hope;

happiness;

for many,

the new year is

the start of the future.

the start of a

lifetime;

the start of a

joyous occasion;

new year,

different adventure.

new year,

different outcomes.

not me.

no matter what I do,

how hard I try,

new years day will always

be a constant reminder

that I'm still here...

I'm still fighting the same fight.

new year,

same old battles.
