On the last night of every December
Before putting away the Christmas tree
You're invited to the soiree of the year
So come and join the fun, there’s no door fee
*
Bring your appetites, you’ll be wined and dined
There’ll be enough, and no worries, it’s all free
Everyone’s favorites will be served
The hooch in the bar will be top-quality
*
There’s plenty of room, hardly any will be turned away
At the party in the house that belongs to MC
The festivities will be both inside and outside.
All at the house far from the salty sea
*
The doors will have to be open, cause it’s hot inside
Some folks will be buzzing around like a drunken little bee
The DJ will be on fire, the music will be thumping
We’ll get out on the dance floor to boogey, you and me
*
We don’t have to fret, the neighbors will leave us alone
They’ll smoke some loco weed and everything will be hazy
So the party can go on into the early hours of the new year
So come as you are, you won’t have any pretending to be
*
We’ll celebrate while we wait for midnight
On the count! One… Two… Three…
At the stroke of midnight, we’ll cheer the New Year in
We will wish the old year well, as we sing a melody
*
We’ll have a grand old time
While drinking Tennessee tea
And dancing the night away
Spending New Year’s Eve With Mother C

Your poem left such a mark on me that I featured it in my piece, “The Unofficial Vocal Honors.” It felt like the perfect way to start the year—vibrant, fun, and a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously. Thank you for sharing your voice; it set the tone for my creative journey this year! https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/l-k-s-unofficial-vocal-awards%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cstyle data-emotion-css="w4qknv-Replies">.css-w4qknv-Replies{display:grid;gap:1.5rem;}
