Never knew what paradise was
Until you took it away
By Raymond G. TaylorPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Detail from Picasso, The Old Guitarist, 1904
I never knew how I cared for you
Until you dared turn me away,
Cast me into the abyss,
Far from that paradise
Bestowed by your love.
Yet now I know
What I've lost.
Now, it's
Gone.

Well-wrought! I got a lot of stiff competition on these nonets! It's been a pleasure to read them all, and I don't know how the judges are gonna pick between 'em!
This is thought provoking at its best.
We don't need anyone who doesn't know our value. Well, that's what I keep lying to myself, lol. Loved your Nonet!
A familiar phrase/feeling perfectly interpreted by your poem. Nice!!!
A familiar tale perfectly nonetted 👌🌟❤️
So painful and emotional, really makes the heart hurt.
OH, the pain of someone walking away or being turned away hurts.
