Never Fade

Walk through insecurity way

By Rowan Finley Published 2 years ago 1 min read

She caused me to be insecure about my body,

so, I climbed down into the trenches of her opinions,

and now her little minions,

they remind me of my shaggy facial hair,

that didn’t look quite right,

but would have looked even worse completely shaven,

my oddly shaped lips,

my nose that was rather too large,

and my lack of ability to take charge.

Gentleness was mistaken for weakness,

over time, my soul felt such bleakness.

Then, I woke up one day and remembered that I was wonderfully and beautifully made,

that included every part of me and this truth will never fade.

Ooo, this one hits deep— insecurity might try to dim the light, but self-worth never fades. 😊

  • That was extremely powerful. A silly opinion that someone have about us should not impact us. It's just an opinion, not the truth

One bad apple can spoil the whole barrel, and sometimes that bad apple uses others as a mirror to view their own worminess.
