Never Ending

A Poem

I shiver with rage as I awake

It is never-ending, I can always feel the quakes

I may be distracted, project an air of calm

That is a carefully crafted facade

There is never a moment I’m not roiling in torment

Attempting to hold back all the hidden rounds, unspent

There is a sort of humming, always running in my head

The anxiety that builds is vicious and explosive

I shake it out for a brief quiet moment

Yet as soon as the world begins its movement

The humming increases its volume in an instant

Pitching me right back into my maiming entrancement
