In the shadows of the past, we vow,
"Never again" to pain and doubt,
With scars as reminders, we know how,
To turn the tide and cast it out.
The echoes fade, their hold released,
From broken dreams, we seek our peace,
In strength and resolve, we find our way,
No more will we be bound by chains,
Or haunted by old, lingering pains,
We rise anew with hearts unchained,
From past's dark grip, we’ve unrestrained.
"Never again" shall shadows cling,
For in our hearts, new hopes will sing.

It's difficult for me to know where to start with a review of this book as it was, for me, an entirely unique experience and one that I'll probably never have again. I don't want that to be interpreted as unenjoyable but it has left me scratching my head a little and ruminating on its content, its themes and its characters.
