Nessus

A centaur

By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I am half horse half man.

The goods I deliver.

I worked as a ferryman,

Across the Evenus river.

Can a centaur earn your trust,

or a fool will you be?

For we are full of lust,

just waiting to break free.

Hercules’ wife I ferried,

but her charms I could not resist

With a poison arrow he carried,

he drew back and did not miss

As revenge I told her as I died,

my blood a love potion it would make,

but when the potion she applied

Hercules’ life it did take.

Now you should take heed,

and ensure you use extreme care,

if a centaur services you need

then you should beware.
