Nepo Babies

A poem for the lucky ones

Oh, please -

The constructs of the

Ancient world,

All the fantasy games,

Medieval lineages

Estate taxes

It’ll never change.

What more is there

To apologize for?

To sweep under the rug?

It’s the facade that

Brings up resentment.

The facade as if there’s

Some semblance of an

Even playing field.

In a class of their own

In this modern world.

Usually - and most -

Learn, not to talk.

Not to whinge.

“Never complain,

Never explain.”

Hiding as your co-workers,

Managers and CEOs

With some other self-made

Narrative and plenty of

Omissions.

More Slytherin than Hufflepuff.
