Neon lights reflecting in rain puddles

Where the Sky Touches the Street

By The 9x FawdiPublished about a month ago 1 min read

The city breathes a silver sigh,

As dusk descends and clouds draw nigh.

Then sudden rain, a gentle fall,

Washes the grit from every wall.

And streetlights bloom, a vibrant hue,

Against the deepening indigo.

In shallow pools, the asphalt gleams,

A shattered dance of electric dreams.

Crimson blurs with sapphire's haze,

A fractured world in watery maze.

Each car's swift streak, a comet's art,

Reflected deep within the heart.

The lonely diner's scarlet glow,

A silent promise, soft and low.

A faded sign, a pulsing green,

Mirrored in the liquid scene.

Here, transient beauty holds its sway,

Before the coming of the day.

A fleeting art, a silent plea,

For eyes to truly stop and see.

The urban soul, in liquid grace,

Finds beauty in this fragile space.

A world reborn, in fleeting gleam,

A vibrant, melancholic dream.

I love this piece. It feels almost cyberpunk, but it's more grounded than that.
