It isn’t normal to walk through life

waiting for the day you’ll die.

Watch wind through wings of butterflies,

and see the sun through seas of sunflowers…

The beauty of this world is all around us.

-

Yet it wavers, trembling…dying.

-

War rages and ravages our world

like savage beasts with wild eyes

and a hunger never sated,

a thirst never quenched.

Hate batters and beats our world

like an endless winter blizzard,

frigid ice reaping life,

leaving skin raw and exposed.

-

Enjoy the beauty –

the summer greens and teardrops of mist

as nature weeps for its begotten world.

Enjoy the splendor –

the hum of dragonflies’ wings upon clover blooms

as the earth trembles with gasping breaths.

-

It isn’t normal to walk through life

waiting for the day you’ll die.
