As I sat there

Staring down the big oak tree in my yard

I realized there was beauty in the leaves

I realized there was beauty in the trees

I realized there was beauty in me.

I looked down and saw the river

Saw the fish floating downstream

As I looked I saw my reflection

Hiding the mud and stains

I saw the pride that was perfection.

A heard my name being called

as I turned to look

The Autumn leaves caught my eye.

The red, orange, and yellow made the whole thing whole

I knew I had to leave soon

but I never wanted to say good-bye

Later Stacie called

And asked how I was

I told her fine

But she knew that was a lie.

"You saw the beauty didn't you"

And she was right.

I saw the beauty that day

Something so pretty

I could never forget.

I saw nature's true beauty.

About the Creator

Lorelai Breedlove

I started writing when I was 10 and I never stopped. I started because I felt it was a great way to express yourself and not have to say it to anyone. I've never been one to tell people what I'm thinking, so writing was a good for me. :)
