Natural Beauty

In The Moonlight

The moonlight shines in our window

Bathing your sleeping form in its silvery glow

As your natural beauty can’t help but

Take my breath away once more

***

I stare at the ceiling

I stare at the silver orb in the sky

I trace the craters on its surface

With my naked eye

***

Too tired to sleep

My mind trying to find a clue

A solution,

So I don’t have to leave you

***

I may be gone but a little while

My work calls me away

But not to see your beauty

Even for a short while,

***

Will give me palpitations

Like a broken heart for sure

Dreaming of the day

When I walk back through our door,

***

And see you smile before me

And the love shine in your eyes

Your lips kept just for me

I dream for that time

***

We are not young lovers

A lifetime side by side

But it still pains me

It’s something I can’t abide,

***

To live without your beauty

Your loving and your smile

Your whispers in my ear

Even for a short while

***

As no solution presents itself

I sigh and take a pen

And leave you a note my darling

I can’t leave without saying…

I love you

***

A rose upon your bedside table

To see when you awake

And my heart I leave with you

It’s always yours to take
