My family’s gone now all is lost
I’m staying mom, despite the cost
I know devotion has a price
Where spoken words will not suffice
Tho persecution comes our way
I promise you, I’ll always stay
I’ll serve the God who’s God to you
Wherever you go, I’ll go too
Wherever you stay, I will stay
So please stop pushing me away
You mustn’t urge me, please don’t try
Whenever you die, so will I
Now even as you welcome death
And race towards your final breath
Wherever you are, there I’ll be
The place you’re buried, bury me
About the Creator
Earl W. Pearl
I’ve been writing poetry (rhyming mostly) since about 2014 and have recently transitioned to writing novels and short stories. My poetry genres are faith, humor, social issues, politics, pretty much any subject matter.
