There are monsters under my bed
hiding in the dark shadows
they want me so bad.
I can't sleep peacefully,
my thoughts are circulating,
the beasts are waiting for me,
for my curiosity
to overcome my innocent body...
Everytime the lights get turned down
I'm shaking
I know what's next...
I can feel the negative energy they spread,
it fills the whole room...
from the window to the door.
I assume
This dreadness will last forever,
but I'm clever
working on a plan
I'm hugging my poor stuffed animal
I know we're stronger
together.
In my dream we fly like feather.
Our wings are our secret weapon...
We fly high
above the sky...
facing with my demons
and all the deep thoughts
are leaving my mind...
I'm starting to feel free.
I look at Suzy
the cute little puppy
my toy just turned into.
She gives me more confidence
As my dark fear's moving away
In the distance...
The lightness of relief
passes through my whole being
like a dried up lief
in the soft autumn air...
"Suzy, we did it, yayy!"
Lost the villain,
Won the hero
Although the chances were zero!
It was meant to be that way...
The process of becoming an adult is a long journey when we learn to understand that being naive like a child is not a sign of weakness, but a divine blessing and a building foundation that helps us get closer to our dreams.
Growing and maturing means to understand that before defeating our fears the first step is to realise, then face our monsters. The solution and the right treatment isn't running away or ignoring them, but acknowledge that they exist and symbolize the difficulties in our life.

It all started when Echo was five. She kept having these nightmares where she would just fall into a dark pit, screaming insanely loud, yet no one, not even her own parents would hear her. It was terrifying. But the most horrible part was that when she'd wake up panting, her parents were nowhere to be found, just like in her dream. She'd always cry herself to sleep alone and helpless.

Excellent poem and philosophy! Lucid dreaming was certainly a lifesaver when I was a child. I wish I could still do it now.
