As a child, I created a world

Technology thrived

As I played, I opened the gate

Into this landscape

Conflict rises

War is at hand

A war controlled by me and my friends

With each card drawn

Each roll of the dice

Forces clash

Until a victor is crowned

Shadows of War

Turned into a tale of hardship

As its history is etched into our reality

Our fun continues on

Until the day the gates close

Time moves on

Life goes on

One dream after another

First one of Science

Followed by one with code

Only for reality to leave me behind

In endless darkness

An abyss of misery awaits

Reality casts its shadow down on me

Leaving me in despair

Until I find the history I etched down so long ago

Still incomplete

The gate opens once more emitting light

But shadow now thrives in it

I take my pencil and finish what I started

I etch a new path in my own reality

Blurring the line between fiction and reality

I step forth

To take on my next journey

As I write and march along

A deadly presence fills the air

As reality fights back

The winds of change blow

Pushing me back

I clutch the paper in my hand

Pencil in the other
