My Wonderland
Wonderland challenge day 30 "wonderland"

I thought I'd escaped
Found the secret to surviving
The hell, I was stuck living in
When trembling overtook me
I slid down the rabbit hole

The mind, a quantum wonderland
No sense of space or time
The more tightly one is
bound to the ground
The higher you’ll soar
never coming down
With every silenced cry for help
a symphony’s projected
A microcosmic orchestra
Drowning out my own
Anguished screams
The ocean of tears carried me
So far, I awoke on a distant shore
Faces foreign and sweet
Spicy aroma blossoming
beneath my rhythmically pattering feet
Avoiding the glint of silver
any metallic sheen
The truth of enchantments
revealed in the mirror’s gleam
The stark reflection
A person I no longer recognized

Fully grown
Vine strangled
Lichen stained
Deteriorating
Eroding and
Assimilating
Into the wooded glade
