My true colours

Life is a rainbow

I dance the rainbow of my life,

Every single day.

Pink shades of life wash over me,

As next to love I lay.

I rise, I smile, my red lips pout,

As I look at my reflection.

And straighten what may be titled,

As I strive towards perfection.

The golden sun rises up,

Above the deep blue sea.

As I drive down the hill and see the view,

That's painted just for me.

I paint my way through daily colours,

Affected by my mood.

And stamp upon the canvas,

Where men and women stood.

The roads are splashed with rainbows,

The buildings standing tall.

The greyness of the city,

It's black and white once more.

Apart from all the colours,

That people bring with them.

Happiness, sadness, the colour of grief,

Upon the hearts of men.

I dip into the colours,

That I want my life to be,

And paint upon the canvas,

That best reflects me.

I'm going to paint a rainbow,

That represents gay pride.

Because my gayness is what I'm blessed with,

And I'm never going to hide.

So splash my world with colours,

But please make sure they're bright.

Let's spread the rainbow around the world,

So people do what's right.

There is no shame in who we are,

And how we want to be.

So I'll dance in all the colours,

That are perfect just for me.
