My Technicolor Dreams in Iambic Pentameter
A Shakespearean Sonnet of Triumphs and Fails

I stay up late to read reds and write whites
I type black letters, I speak russet thoughts
Behind my eyes, I dream juniper nights
I pray to old and new, have and have nots
.
I want this life bad, I try hard, I do
Edit, review, subdue, submit to air
Under my eyes lie a darker slate hue
When the golden sun’s up, I am still there
.
I have a story, in fact, I have three
Lean in real close, I’ll whisper opal steam
You delight in my onyx, don’t you see?
Read my words: my falls, my sugar-rich dream
.
I love this in myself: my triumphs, fails
Success on the horizon, chiffon sails
