My Sweet Addiction

That feeling when a certain someone is all you can think about

You’ve moved into my brain like a positive addiction.

I crave you like sugar but need you like air.

You stimulate my thoughts and stir my dreams.

You rescue me and torture me all hours of the day.

I’m never not thinking of you.

A desire I can’t shake.

Nor do I wish to.

I’m riding the high of your attention.

Always seeking your affection.

My heart grows when I’m with you.

And shrinks when I’m without.

I can’t sleep or think without you.

You’re the first and last thing on my mind.

You’ve taken over my life.

And changed me like I never thought possible.

You found the smile of my inner child.

Silenced the demons of my mind.

Freed me from expectations.

Now, all I want from life is you.

Nothing more and nothing less.

Because you are my sweet addiction.

What better addiction can there be, especially when it's reciprocated.
